Follow your doctor’s instructions when taking Proscalpin. It is available in 1-mg tablets that should be taken orally once daily. Proscalpin is not suitable for women or children. If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for it; just resume your regular schedule with the next dose. Never share your Proscalpin with others, and avoid letting pregnant women come into contact with the medication. Proscalpin is specifically approved for treating hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in men and should never be taken by women. Finasteride can pose serious risks during pregnancy or for women planning to become pregnant, and women should avoid crushing or handling these tablets. Men over 45 with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) should be aware that their PSA levels may decrease significantly.
